My dog, who is now about 4 years old, hates water. And that’s okay! Not all dogs like water, he’s one of them, and that’s okay. But here’s the problem. Most dogs that don’t like water just sit on the sidelines and do their thing. It is not my dog. He’s convinced I’m drowning, or that’s what I suppose. He circles around the pool, moaning like crazy, and every time I get close to the edge, he desperately searches for a lost piece of my bathing suit or float to try and get me out. Your concern is very cute. But also, I can’t swim with him anymore, because he whines and barks so loud that it annoys me as well as everyone around me. I have no idea how to begin to correct this, or if it is possible. It’s stressful for both him and me. I swim quite often, and I feel bad that I packed it so often (because he doesn’t love it) because of some strange misconception he has in mind. Does anyone have any advice?
